Demographic Characterization
Part of the demographic characterization involves mapping the human dimensions of the Mission-Aransas estuary and surrounding area in South Texas.
The Mission-Aransas NERR is currently conducting a human dimension project to document the current state of the science/knowledge, identify data gaps, and to identify socioeconomic information needs of the area. This project will create a community characterization document that will highlight the socioeconomic patterns of the surrounding area of the Mission-Aransas Estuary.
Human Dimension Regional Roundtable Workshop
A regional roundtable workshop was held for natural resource management professionals and applied social scientists on April 10th and 11th, 2007. Discussions from the regional roundtable workshop will help the Mission-Aransas NERR develop a master plan for applied social science activities that will support ecosystem-based management decisions.
