Tenure Track Position in Marine Science

The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Marine Science and Marine Science Institute invite applications for a faculty position emphasizing the use of physics and physical processes to address research questions in biogeochemistry, ecosystem dynamics, and/or organismal biology in the marine environment. The position is a joint appointment as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department and as a Research Assistant Professor at the Institute. A higher rank may be considered under special circumstances. A Ph.D. degree is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research and publication record and relevant postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be based at the Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, TX, and will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, supervise graduate students, and develop an externally-funded research program. The ideal candidate will embrace the Department’s interdisciplinary approach to marine science education, and the candidate’s research will take advantage of the coastal location of the Institute.
