MSI Graduate Students Honored at International Meeting

The 32nd annual Larval Fish Conference was held in Kiel, Germany,
August 2-7, 2008, with about 180 participants from all over the world. The
Marine Science Institute was well represented, with scientific presentations
given by students Scott Applebaum, Shinnosuke Nakayama, and Ken Webb and
researchers Scott Holt, Alfredo Ojanguren, and Lee Fuiman. In addition, Alfredo
organized a special workshop for students on the process of scientific
publication, which was attended by 50-60 students.
Shin Nakayama and Ken Webb received honorable mention for the best student paper
award at the conference. This award have been given to the best student
presentation each year since 1988 and MSI is the most honored institution in
this competition. Past MSI students honored include:

Incidentally, Shin Nakayama won the award as a student at Kyoto University
before coming to MSI. |
