Science and the Sea reaches new public audience

The I.B. Magee Beach Park multi-purpose center opened on October 25, 2007 and
the centerpiece in its lobby is a wall-sized multi-media display that touts the
University of Texas Marine Science Institute and its Science and the Sea
initiative. The display contains a large flat-screen monitor that provides
information about the institute and three complete episodes of the Science
and the Sea radio program. Each week a new radio program rotates into
the display so that the content is always fresh. The radio program is
shown on the monitor, complete with an image related to each story, and at the
same time, the audio is played through speakers incorporated into the display.
The display wall also describes the various missions of the Institute. This
display was made possible by donations from the Magee family. |
