Welcome to the Fisheries and Mariculture Laboratory (FAML) of the University of Texas at Austin Marine Science Institute. The majority of our laboratory projects are focused on enhancing growth and survival of young marine fish and shrimp in closed systems. We work on a variety of local species important in commercial and recreational fisheries as well as reef species prized by home aquarist. In addition, we are interested in identifying nutritional and physical factors affecting wild populations of fishes by assessing larval condition and tolerance.
