Field Trips & Activities

Besides teaching lessons in classrooms, GK-12 Fellows and teachers participate in a variety of activities and field trips with their students. They also attend a number of lectures and workshops. Below is a list of some of those activites from the past academic year. Links contain photos and more information about these activities.

 

Port Aransas and Flour Bluff GK-12 teachers learn how to measure beach topography (January 2005).

2007-2008 Field Trips

27 & 28 November 2007: FBISD 6th grade students visited pulled plankton tows to collect marine organisms while out on the R/V Katy. They also went seining in the marsh and studied the organisms that live in seagrass beds. (Teacher: Cliff Strain, Fellow: Brad Gemmell with help from Kim Jackson). More information
